Landing Page Details

Get maximum control over the most important area on your website — your header.

Awesome Header is the best WordPress header plugin. You can use it to:

  • Create sticky navigation
  • Replace your WordPress header entirely

This highly customizable WordPress header plugin enables you to have up to three layers of navigation, unlimited color choices and it’s very easy to configure and use.

note: You can find Awesome Header settings in Appearance > Awesome Header.

Awesome Header is:
  • Secure
  • Light
  • Easy to use & configure

Its purpose is to make your website more useful, user friendly and to improve the general look and feel on desktops and retina screens.

Features

  • Touch-screen friendly
  • Unlimited color options
  • Cross Browser Support
  • Three levels of navigation
  • Background image/pattern
  • Sticky option (omni-visible navigation)
  • Replace your WordPress header entirely
  • Google Approved Microdata Breadcrumbs
  • WooCommerce & bbPress support for Breadcrumbs
  • Very extensible and modifiable through Filter & Action Hooks

Benefits

  • Better branding
  • Lower bounce rate
  • Increase in conversions
  • Improved usability and UX
  • Improved click-through rate
  • Improved page views per visit

How to use?

Once installed and activate, Awesome Header becomes your sticky header automatically and you just need to style it to match the looks of your website. If you want to place Awesome Header somewhere else on your WordPress website, just place <?php if (function_exists('awesomeheader')) awesomeheader(); ?> where you want it to appear, but usually it would go after opening <body> tag or inside your website container. And that’s it!

This typically goes to your header.php file.

It is also required to use pretty permalinks on your website to have styles generated for this header.

Versatility

Control every aspect of your WordPress header, starting from background images, font sizes, header alignment, placement of your menus and even orientation of your submenus.

Match Your Colors

Awesome Header allows you to tweak the color of your WordPress navigation and create your own color scheme.

Retina-Ready

Awesome Header is responsive so it will look nice on all screen sizes and because it uses icon fonts, it will also look good on any screen resolution (Retina Ready).

It is automatically disabled on mobile devices, so it doesn’t waste that precious screen real estate.

Extensibility

If you’re a developer and you want maximum control of your Awesome Header, you’ll find plenty of filters and actions and info on how to use them in the documentation that comes with the plugin.

I get a bulleted list only when cache is enabled, and the file on the folder /asmh/styles does not load. I had previously installed a permalink structure silo plugin, but I have unistalled it, could it be permalinks problem as other user suggested? But why it only appears in cache mode?

Try putting `` after or before `id="site-wrapper"`, and try to remove `ttfmake_maybe_show_site_region('header')` as it's probably theme's native header. What errors do you get? Did you enable permalinks and have PHP version greater or equal 5.4? ~Marko

The search field can be coded by you/developer, since there is filter hook to put anything on the right/left side. Others, i.e. background image, text logo, can do. The non-conventional main menu could be done in CSS text field on plugin page by different float/display css property. Any part of header, like main, top, bottom, etc. can be hidden if you're on some page or conditional page (is_single, is_search) using filter hooks which is explained here: http://awesomeheader.com/documentation/filter-hooks/ ~Marko

You can set different menu for some page by using filter hooks just like I created the playground page: http://awesomeheader.com/playground/ It basically does settings change through filters based on request parameters. To see how to set filter look at: http://awesomeheader.com/documentation/filter-hooks/ The setting for main menu is called `middle_menu_id`, so you have to know your menu's id by looking at Appearance -> Menus page. ~Marko

With Awesome Header, can you create a full width header, about 100px in height, with the logo centered, social icons on the left and a blog search function on the right? I have a theme I really like, but the header customization is limited.

That should be doable, but you can't have social icons and search in line with your logo. Logo can be in the middle, the other two can be left and right, but slightly above.

Thanks for your interest in our plugin. WordPress (installation) and its updates are independent of the theme you're using. But, updating your WordPress theme may interfere with the Awesome Header plugin. That's why you should always use WordPress child themes for customizing websites.
