The Embroidery and Stitching Creator by psddude contains 18 Photoshop actions and 6 bonus actions to help you with the creation process. This pack will allow you to create realistic embroidery, sewing and stitching effects out of any text, shape, raster.

The embroidery effects can easily be modified and customized after the action is ended. You can pick the color, fabric texture(leather, jeans, linen). And you can use one of the +40 stitch brushes included in this pack.

I have also added a PSD bonus file containing a vector needle that you can use in your designs. The PSD also includes some samples made with the actions.

The end result has the layers intact so that you can customize and edit the effect as you will see in the customization section.

Pack Update – 07/29/2015

I added a PSD file “EMBROIDERY-SAMPLES” with samples of all the effects produced by the first 20 actions.

Also I added 2 action that can be used to create the fill shape embroidery effect. Add your text/shape and play the “FULL EMBROIDERY” action. Use the “Fill shape with embroidery” action several times to fill your shape. You can leave the default brush or you can get creative and use other stitch brushes.

Pack Update – 09/30/2016

I have updated the ATN file. You can replace the old one or you can keep both. There are small changes to make the effects look a little better.

Pack Update – 04/12/2017

I have updated the ATN file and now you can create multi colored images with embroidered effect. See the sample below.

NEW! CROSS-STITCH at 300 DPI print ready (mockup + PS action)

Nice effect but I've gone through every action, kind of annoying, and still cannot get a simple logo to appear embroidered. Would have been nice if your PDF came with examples for each action instead of forcing us to click through each one just to see how it will appear. Also the embroidery and jeans effect does not work. The only layer is rasterized and I get a pop-up "Could not complete the command because the selected area is empty."

  • MajorPayne

Clarifying my issue - your actions only apply an embroidered/stitch effect to the outside (outline) of the logo, no effect appears within the artwork even close to your demo images.

  • psddude

The embroidery actions actually create a stitch outline for shapes and text. The ones that are made without the outline effect are: - embroidery and leather (for thin text or shape) - embroidery leather and jeans (for thin text or shape) - embroidery and jeans - embroidery effect 1.1(for thin text or shape) But these actions work best only for thin shape or text(like calligraphy fonts).

Thanks for clarifying that. Appears your demo images were misleading because I purchased this on the impression of filled stitch effects not outlined.

Can you tell me how to make the circles that are on the purchase page?

  • psddude

    2017-09-16 00:17:36
    Purchased Reply

To make the circles that are on the preview you have to follow these steps: 1. Create a circle shape. 2. Set the Fill of the shape to 0% and add a Stroke of around 20px 3. Convert the circle shape into a smart object. Inside the smart object play one of the actions with the label "(for thin text or shape)" 4. Save and close the smart object 5. To add multiple circles repeat the process with smaller circles, but you have to hide the "canvas" background layer before closing the smart object.

My pleasure, I am here to help :) I made an outline circle shape with 20px stroke border. I played the "embroidery effect 1.1(for thin text or shape)" action After that you can make a round selection and play the "stitch effect using selection" action using the brush that you want.

All the examples and actions make really nice fine border. We want them rough like the red circles. Also the fills we would like rough and chunkcy like your examples. We just don't understand how to get from fine to that rougher example.

I think that my inexperience with PS is showing. I’ve got a flattened piece of art (attached .tif) that I open in PS. I make it an active layer. When I run an action, the artwork is totally disregarded and I get a full page embroidered pattern that has nothing to do with my artwork; just an embroidered colored background with an embroidered frame around it. I think that I’m doing something wrong for sure, but just don’t know. Might you have any tutorials on this?

Your image contains a text but also a white background merged with the text. You have to remove the white from the image and to leave only the black text. Also you have to make the image at least 800px to obtain a good result. I send you on the email more details so please check it.

Hi again, I have tried all these actions now, they're great, thanks! I don't seem to get the "fill shape embroidery" action to work though, it says no pixels are selected. at the step "set selection" and then on the next step it says it's not available (which I assume is due to no election). I have a single letter, E, and I want to make it look like the whole letter is embroidered on to the fabric. All the other actions seem to focus on stitching the outline of a selection. I would be very grateful for and suggestions on what I might do wrong... Thanks :)

Still can’t get the effect I want on the text, any chance you could assist me. I am trying to make a patch (which is no problem) which has stitching around the edges. Then on this patch is some text which should look entirely like it’s been embroidered on to the patch, do you understand what I mean?
