The Best Results

For the best results, it is recommended to use high resolution photos in the range of 1500px – 3500px. The optimal range is from 2500px – 3500px. The detail and clarity in the effects generated by the actions reduce the smaller your photo is.

After each action has finished playing, it creates a well organised layer structure. Each layer and folder are named appropriately and color coded to create a neat working environment for you. Not only is the layer structure organised, each action comes with a highly detailed video tutorial teaching you about how each layer affects the design and how you can make customisations to it. Here is my YouTube channel.

Combine actions

If you own multiple actions, have you thought about stacking the effects to build even more advanced designs? Below there are over 95 actions to choose from – this is where you can get really creative!

How do I combine actions?

  1. Run the first action on your photo.
  2. Once you are happy with the design, save your image out.
  3. Now re-open your image and run another action!
You can then use the 2nd actions layer flexibility to further customize the design. You can follow this process and stack effects to build incredibly detailed designs with very little work.

Hi - sorry, my actions will only work in English versions of Photoshop. I would have to rewrite each action for different languages to work. The video you have referenced would be the only way! Thanks for the feedback and video link

Hey, My email address can be found on the help page here. Scroll down the page and click 'Show more' and you will see my contact address is large bold text. If it is crashing your Photoshop, it is most likely because you have 'Use OpenCL' enabled in your performance settings. This could be conflicting with your Graphics Card. If you go to the menu 'Edit > Preferences > Performance' and then select 'Advanced Settings', uncheck 'Use OpenCL'. Restart Photoshop and then run the Action again. Please email me if you are still having issues. Thanks

Ran ModernArt several times and it looked good. Suddenly it will no longer complete the macro. Gets so far and hangs in a loop. Checked everything many times over. I can't see anything wrong. Reloaded the action but no help.

Hey! If you are experiencing Photoshop freezing during the ModernArt Action playback, you will need to disable Use OpenCL. To disable Use Open CL, go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, then under the Graphics Processor Settings, click Advanced Settings. From here, disable Use OpenCL. Close down Photoshop and then run the Action again. If you are still having troubles please email me. My email address is on the help page here. Scroll down the page and click 'Show More', from there you will see my email address in the large bold text. Thanks

Nice action, but as Kalromain says it does not work well for BIG images...I print them so 18 by 14 would really be a nice size to have. BUT keep on trucking its a very nice action. :-)

Hey! Yes I agree, the Actions are best suited for photos in the range of 1500 - 4000px. I just find Photoshop can run into lots of problems when working with very large images, things like ram depletion and the disabling of Photoshop commands can make it hard for actions to work correctly. It can also increase action playback 10 fold! I am noticing though with each new PS version the playback speed has been increasing slightly. Photoshop is a resource monster and can crash or freeze easily particularly when running actions on huge photos as well. Another thing to keep in mind is that Photoshop limits brush size creation to 2500px. So if you run an action which requires brushes on a photo that's 10000px , then the effects may appear very small as the brush size is limited to 2500px. Hopefully things change but just for now the safe zone seems to be in the 1500 - 4000px range. Thanks
