Spotlight is a clean, fast and well-thought WordPress theme for content-heavy blogs & magazines.
Thanks to our signature feature, the Demo Switcher, you may apply a new demo any time without effecting your content. If you feel bored with one of the demos, simply apply a new one and get a completely different appearance of your blog or magazine.
Display an eye-catching title and a short description of your website to start a conversation with your visitors. Add a call to action button, subscription or search form to your hero section for extended features.
Display featured posts in a beautiful grid. You may filter your featured posts by category, tag or post IDs, order them by date or views number and even set limits for the time frame when posts were published.
You may include the featured posts section not only on your homepage, but on category pages too.
Enable sub-categories filter on category pages for content-heavy websites. It will help your visitors navigate between categories and sub-categories and find the post they’ve been looking for.
There are three different page header types for your posts and pages. Display your featured posts’ header with an image overlay, wide edge-to-edge image or traditional layout.
When you select a dark background color for your header or footer, the text and links color will automatically change to white. You don’t need to setup a lot of color option, as most of them will work automatically based on your selection.
All theme options can be configured with the native WordPress customize feature. Forget the outdated settings pages and manually refreshing your page to see the changes. Preview all the changes live while configuring your perfect blog or media.
Choose from different post archive layouts for your homepage and archive pages. Display your posts in list, full or alternative list layouts.
Select the matching page layout for your homepage, archives, posts, and pages. Display a sidebar on either the left or right side or use the full-width page layout for your content.
Showcase your recent posts with a thumbnail right in the menu dropdown. Don’t worry, the menu will not slow down your website, as the content is requested dynamically, only when a user hovers over the parent menu item.
We have added styles for the AMP pages to match the main styles of your website. Simply activate the official WordPress AMP plugin to enable Google Accelerated Mobile Pages on your website.
Everybody knows, and Google in particular, that duplicate content is bad. Avoid having duplicate content on your homepage by excluding featured posts from the main archive with a single click.
Create different styles with 800+ Google Fonts supported. Simply select the desired font from the dropdown and preview it instantly on your website – no more confusing CSS rules or code snippets.
Ever wanted to place an ad spot underneath your header? Or a short description before the featured posts section on your homepage? A subscribe form below post content? With our signature template you may insert any content into different template parts without changing template files or overriding templates with a child theme.
Increase mobile users’ viewport by displaying the main navigation only when they scroll up. Or force the menu to stay sticky all the time. Or disable the feature completely, it’s up to you! Enable either of the three options in theme settings with a single click.
Make your widgets sticky when scrolling the page. Select from two options: either stick to the bottom edge of your sidebar or the top edge of the last widget. Increase your ad’s conversion by setting the ad as your last widget and selecting the latter option. Unlike other theme’s sticky sidebars, ours is enabled and doesn’t flicker on tablets or mobiles. By using the native browser’s sticky positioning, we created a sticky sidebar that animates gorgeously not only on desktops, but mobiles too.
It’s you who decides how to structure your content. Our theme supports unlimited levels in your main menu. If there’s not enough space in the viewport to display a dropdown submenu, it will appear on the opposite side instead. And it supports mobile touch devices, too.
Display the mobile menu upon clicking the hamburger icon on mobile devices. You may also place social links, subscription form, Facebook fan page or any other widget on your mobile menu, just as in a regular sidebar.
The featured post section can have different post sources. You may filter posts by tag or category and order posts by date, post views or even specify the timeframe when the posts were published.
Divide your posts into multiple pages and add properly styled pagination at the bottom of your posts.
Involve guest authors without creating separate user accounts or add multiple authors per post with the integrated Co-Authors Plus plugin support. All post authors, including contributors and guest authors can have social accounts and a bio too.
Built-in support for RTL (right-to-left) languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Persian or any other RTL written language.
The “Load More” button and the Infinite Load feature will encourage your users to stay on your website longer by browsing through your post archives without refreshing the browser page.
We use the new REST API for instantly fetching posts, which is the fastest way to dynamically load posts in WordPress.
Display number of post views among other post meta with the integrated Post Views Counter support.
Easily add post reading time to encourage your users. The reading time is calculated automatically based on the average reading speed of an adult.
Your website will look amazing on Retina screens thanks to vector scalable elements, clear Retina-ready images, and typography.
A small number of generated thumbnails will save your disk storage space on your hosting provider and make the thumbnail regeneration process quick.
We never downscale images and serve them in the original size or close to it, so that users will not download more than they need. Google likes optimized image sizes too.
We tested our theme on multiple physical devices and emulators to make sure we deliver the best quality.
Despite a lot of great built-in features, it’s extremely easy to use. All options support live-preview, and you may instantly see all the changes before saving them.
We made sure that all theme options and features are seamlessly blended into the WordPress user interface and feel very natural and intuitive.
Of course, no coding is required to setup up your website.
Activate breadcrumbs, a powerful SEO addition to your website, with a single click in SEO using Yoast plugin and it will automatically appear in the right place with the right styles.
Get instant search results while you type the search request and easily navigate between them with keyboard support.
The default WordPress galleries (or the [gallery] shortcode) will look nice right out-of-the box thanks to the integrated gallery styles.
Display list of all site authors on a single page. Each author is displayed with an avatar, name, bio, and a list of recently published articles.
Increase the page per visit ratio by enabling recent posts beneath your single posts. Related posts will appear automatically, as soon as there’re enough posts in the same category.
There’re no dependencies (for example Bootstrap), so no extra bloat or third-party assets. Your users and Google will love the loading time of your website pages.

There’s a .pot file, included with the theme, that allows you to use POEdit or Loco Translate to easily translate our theme into your native language.

Of course, you may import the demo posts too, a useful feature when starting a brand new blog.

is this theme has register/login page for magazin user(means: author not subscriber)?? i am not talking about woocommerce/wordpress admin login/registration page?
Hello. As Spotlight is build for online media and publishers, there're no front-end posting tools according to our demos. Feel free to use any front-end login plugin from the WordPress repository. Should you have any other questions, please open a ticket at https://codesupply.co/support/ and our support agents will help you promptly. Thanks a lot for your purchase!
Pre-sales question :
Can we have a wide/box featured post slider on the homepage similar to your Authentic (or Expertly) theme?
Hello. Thanks ;) I'm afraid, there's no featured post slider, as Spotlight is supposed to be static (better for conversion). In fact, you will hardly see a slider on a large news site. Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Hi guys, i really love your themes, i think they are as it should be, fast and rich in characteristics I have a couple questions pls... 1. is it possible with your help to have menu like themeforests menu in case someone has many categories. Is it possible? See themeforest for example Menu: -Web Themes & Templates All Items WordPress Simple Site Builder HTML Marketing CMS eCommerce Muse UI Design Plugins if no can you implement it? There is no one else theme with this capability. Is really handy if you have many categories 2. Can i do with Expertly what i can do with Spotlight and vice versa? because i dont't know what to choose What their main differences? 3. Where i can see the modules? 4. floating video on page scroll? Can you implement it? 5. continue reading button? Thanks!
Hello. Thank you for your kind words ;) 1) I'm afraid, this type of menu is very specific, and there aren't many users who would need it to make it into a theme feature :( 2) There're a lot of differences between these two themes. The main difference is design though. Simply compare the demos and choose the one you like more. 3) There's a screenshot of Powerkit modules on the plugin's page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/powerkit/ 4) I'm not sure, what floating video is. Could you provide an example please? 5) There're already View Post buttons on the full post archive type. See the demo here: https://spotlightthe.me/supercharged/ Let me know, if you have other questions. Looking forward to seeing you among our customers ;)
Hi, I liked the theme.. I have a query: The "https://spotlightthe.me/crush/" website performance is best on gtmatrix, but when checking on Google Lighthouse, it's average. Have you checked ? Thanks
Hello. We check our themes in Google PageSpeed Insights. The Crush Demo score is 99 for mobile and 95 for desktops, which is a very rare thing on ThemeForest :) Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Hi, Thanks for the reply, but i was talking about Google Lighthouse (part of Chrome Developer Tools for auditing the quality (performance, accessibility, and more) of web pages), not PageSpeed. COuld u pls check once the Performance, Progressive Web App, etc. Thanks
We don't use Lighthouse as one of the performance metrics. Though, I've just checked with it, and the Performance score is 100/100. Other warning for Accessibility, Web Apps are subjective, as they come from Facebook widgets, jQuery (we can't use a different jQuery version), issues related to screen readers, etc. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Hi, Thanks for the response. I have a few more questions before I buy this theme. Could you please check my queries here ? https://www.dropbox.com/s/viw2xtqdw21e77e/Spotlight%20CRUSH%20Queries.docx?dl=0 Thanks
Please find the answers below: 1) Yes, author is enabled already in a newer theme version. Our support agent will help you with the contributors too. 2) Yes, you may enable share buttons in mobile view. As social links belong to the plugin territory, they're implemented by integrating our Powerkit plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/powerkit/) 3) You may either place the Home link in your navigation menu or just use the site logo to go back to the homepage. 4) Yes, there're 15 social accounts supported, including GitHub, YouTube, RSS, Reddit, LinkedIn. As social links belong to the plugin territory, they're implemented by integrating our Powerkit plugin. You may see all supported social networks in the widget (scroll to the bottom of the page): https://spotlightthe.me/crush/a-pretium-enim-dolor-donec-eu-venenatis-curabitur/ 5) Yes, you may see all supported share buttons here: https://spotlightthe.me/crush/penatibus-nulla-ut-sit-etiam-sociis-nisi-porttitor/ 6) Yes, all social accounts are supported. 7) Yes, Spotlight is schema markup ready (with a plugin). 8) Google Analytics is also a plugin territory. Our support agents will help you with it. 9) Yes, Spotlight comes with a child theme. Sorry for the delay. It took me a while to answer all the questions :)

Congratulations! Amazing Work, Good Luck With Sale
Hi. When I try to connect the signup form via API it keeps on giving me an "API Key isn't Valid" message. I checked my Mailchimp account and everything seems to be fine. I did submit a ticket on your website yesterday to have another few questions answered but I haven't gotten a reply yet. Thanks!
Hello. We've just responded to your ticket. Thank you for your purchase!
Hi, thanks for this awesome theme But, i just wonder how to make share button on the meta content sticky and keep move down by scrolling the mouse, thanks

Hello. We provide support via our ticket system. Please open a ticket at https://codesupply.co/support and include your website URL, and our support agents will help you promptly. Thanks a lot for your purchase!
Checked this amazing theme and expertly.....but i do not see clear differences.
While there're a lot of common features, there're a lot of differences too. First of all, it's the purpose and design. Expertly is for professionals, while Spotlight is great for a news blog / magazine. Expertly has a hero section, while Spotlight doesn't need one. Featured posts, archives, single post layout are different too. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Question about the ad spaces. So what if you sell an adspace to a company.......does your adsystem track visitors and clicks? As you might know.....it's all about the clicks and conversion.
Hello. There's no tracking feature for visitors or clicks in our themes. We only provide a simple way of inserting any content in multiple different locations of our theme without modifying the core files. All the tracking should be done on the service provider's side (AdSense or similar). Let me know, if you have other questions.
Ok. So the ad spots can be used to add broadstreet ads? https://broadstreetads.com/
Yes, you can insert any ads codes. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Hi I'm really interested in buy this item. Do you have a demo for admin menu?
Hello. I'm afraid, we don't have a demo for the admin dashboard. Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Hi, my main doubt is the possibility of customization. For example (see https://spotlightthe.me/spotlight/?sidebar=disabled&layout=full), I need to put ONE full width post on top, after menu. Is it easy to reorder (or organize) these layouts? Thank you.
Spotlight is easy to customise and optimized for performance, that's why there's no page builder. Yes, you may insert a post above the featured posts (under the menu) with our Additional Content feature https://codesupply.co/documentation/spotlight/site-configuration/additional-content/ and the Inline Posts shortcode: https://spotlightthe.me/spotlight/inline-posts/ Our support agents can definitely help you with that. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Spotlight - Feature-Packed News & Magazine WordPress Theme exchange with the sngine script i have Sngine - The Ultimate PHP Social Network Platform
Hello. I'm afraid, we don't provide any exchanges. Let me know, if there's anything else you would like to know. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Can I display subcategory in category page? any demos?
Hello. Yes, you may display a list of subcategories on a category page. I've just enabled it on our demo: https://spotlightthe.me/spotlight/category/aenean-eleifend/ Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
one last question, do you have any screenshots/demo that google structured data (e.g reviews) are working as expected?
Hello. We've recently removed the built-in microdata support and replaced them with JSON-LD with a plugin. It's now the officially recommended method for adding structured data to your website. Here's a screenshot for you: https://cloud.codesupply.co/201811130912479gryo.png Let me know, if you have other questions.
Nice Work, Good Luck With Selling! :)
I'm interested in of buying DailyGraph, it is very nice, but before I would like to be sure in few things. • You have four ad sections, which are full width. Is it possible to make different ads sections? For example if I want to show several ads at the right sidebar on every page (home and posts) with Adrotate Pro plugin. • Can I put ads to any other sections as I like? • Can I change a height of default (four) ads? • If I would like to make a classified ad page (using WP Adverts or AWPCP plugin), is it possible? • Can I make a latest classifieds column at the main (home) page, for example at the left upper side where You have news section now? • As I understand this theme is responsive. Does it mean that system makes a lot of different size of photos? I mean if I upload for example photo which is 1024 pxl width, in my FTP will be a lot of copies of the same photo with different widths. If it is so, it means it will take huge inoded space and after few years inoded limit comes over. I have this problem right now with an other theme. Sorry for so many questions. All the best!
Hello. 1) With our Additional Content feature you may place any content in different locations. It can be HTML, shortcodes or anything else. There're many more locations, than the four we have in our demos. As any content can be placed in the Additional Content fields, you may of course have different heights of your ads. Please refer to our documentation for more info: https://codesupply.co/documentation/spotlight/site-configuration/additional-content/ 2) You may place ads to your sidebar by placing a shortcode in the Text widget or using the Adrotate Pro widget. 3) Spotlight creates a few image thumbnails, just as all WordPress themes. Disk space however is either very cheap nowadays or completely free. For example Bluehost has unlimited disk space for only $3.95 / month. Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
One more thing. Count of inodes are limited by host (for example Bluehost has 300 000 limit) and thats why it is important to know how many copies there will be. Some responsive themes are making even more than 10 copies of one photo. Some less. If I have very active web site, it means inodes limit will reach sooner than I expected. For example if I buy news or magazine theme and I update my content even every hour, but theme is built for slower content update purpose, my host inodes limit comes over with few years. That's why I would like to be sure is the DailyGraph layout suitable for my web site and purpose. Thank You for Your time and previous answers! They gave me all the information I was hoping.
Thanks! I didn’t know about the limit for the total number of files. Anyway, if you’re posting that often, you should consider running a VPS instead or a cloud solution, like DigitalOcean / Amazon / Linode. Let me know, if there’s anything else you would like to know.
1) Does the theme support a page builder so I can create home page to my liking? 2) Does it support offset or removal of duplicate post so that I can ensure there is no duplication.
Hello. 1) Spotlight is a light-weight, uncluttered and fast-performing theme. We don't include a page builder and instead provide four different predefined featured post sections, that have been thoroughly tested and are well-optimized. 2) Yes, there're special settings, allowing excluding duplicate posts in all post sections. Let me know, if you have other questions ;) Thank you for your interest and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Thanks. Is it possible to integrate WP Bakery. As I do want the ability to have a section for sponsored stories on home page. Also I want to crate events pages where we can show our interviews, news and articles from an event.
Yes, it is possible to add WP Bakery shortcodes anywhere in various locations thanks to our Additional Content feature. You may also use the built-in Inline Posts shortcode for displaying your sponsored stories on homepage: https://spotlightthe.me/spotlight/inline-posts/ As for the events, you may either use the WP Bakery plugin, or create posts and group them into tag / categories. Let me know, if you have other questions.
