IMPORTANT NOTE! The COMPATIBLE versions of Photoshop is CS6, CC, CC 2015.5+, CC 2017+ and only computers with available OIL PAINT FILTER inside a Photoshop.

If Oil Paint is grayed out for you, try these steps:

- Make sure Photoshop is up-to-date

- Make sure that your document is RGB. Oil Paint won’t work on color spaces other than RGB (e.g. CMYK, Lab, etc.)

- If you’re on Windows, make sure you’re running a 64-bit OS with the 64-bit version of Photoshop. OpenCL requires 64-bit

- Make sure Use Graphics Processor is checked under Preferences > Performance

- Make sure that your video card driver is up to date with the latest from the vendor website.

Note: If your video card does not support OpenCL v1.1 or higher, you may need to purchase an upgraded video card that supports OpenCL v1.1 or higher to gain access to the Oil Paint filter.

Information about your graphics card can be found in Photoshop’s Help > System Info dialog.

Tested in Photoshop CS6, CC, CC 2015.5+ and CC 2017+.

ONLY FOR THE ENGLISH VERSION OF PHOTOSHOP. Need to change the language of your version? WATCH HERE

If you have any problems with this action please visit the help page, where you will find answers to FAQs and recommendations for getting the most out of my actions. If you can’t find the answer to your question, and you’re still having trouble, please contact me by e-mail: [email protected]

How to configure Photoshop to work with actions.

1. Make sure you are using the English version of Photoshop. Each action has been created and optimized to work only with the English version of Photoshop, so please make sure that you are using this version. If not, don’t worry: you can change the language of your version of Photoshop to English (and switch back again) using this method

By the way, my best selling Double Exposure Action has recently been updated, and you can now use it with the English, German, French, Italian and Spanish versions of Photoshop.

2. Use the RGB Mode and 8 Bits color. To check these settings, go to Image->Mode and check the “RGB color” and “8 Bits/Channel”.

3. Make sure that the option “Add ‘copy’ to Copied Layers and Groups” is turned on. This option applies only to CS5 and later versions of Photoshop. On the “LAYERS” panel, click on the menu icon, go to “Panel Options…”, and check that the “Add ‘copy’ to Copied Layers and Groups” is turned on.

4. Use a photo with 72dpi or higher. If you are using a photo with less than 72dpi, the action will not function correctly. To fix this, go to Image->Image Size and increase the resolution value.

5. Set the Opacity of brush to 100%. Set the Opacity of the brush to 100%. Select the “Brush Tool” and move the opacity slider to 100%.

How to combine my actions?

1. Open your photo

2. Play the first action

3. Save the result as an image

4. Open the previously saved image

5. Play the second action

Photos used in preview are not included.

My e-mail adress: [email protected] Also probably the problem is that the pattern file is not loaded. Please make this step again: https://youtu.be/kovzcKAES98?t=262 Thanks!

Hi! I just bought this action and I was so excited to use it! Then I found out that my graphic card does not support the "Use OpenCL" option, ugh! I am so sad because I was so excited to use this! :( Anyway, the action still works but it is very choppy looking and the lines are not smooth.. (it does not like a smooth drawing, like in your examples) is the missing OpenCL causing the problem? I am looking at buying a new computer anyway.. so, should the "choppiness" go away if I am able to enable the OpenCL? Thank you so much!

Hello! Yes, the reason of these problems is that the Oil Paint filter can't worked on your computer, because the OpenCL is turned off. Please try these steps to fix it: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/oil-paint-greyed-out.html Don't forget to update your graphic card drivers. It was helped in many cases. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the quick response. I already, previously, tried to update my driver and it said that I am fully updated. I tried a few other things that haven't worked either. I have contacted a computer specialist to see if they can help me! I cannot wait to use this action! The anticipation is killing me! I will keep you updated on my progress! Thanks again for your help! :)

Hello! There are two possible reasons of this error. 1. Try to save your image like a JPEG file and play the action again but now with JPEG image. 2. Try to load a patterns file again. After that please play the action again. Please let me know about results. Thanks!

Hello, the action is very great but I wanted to say 2 things: a) is that the final result is not just like the preview image of the product in the store: have you a little 'touched up? b) action continue to give error: "The command SELECT is not currenlty available!" I can not every turn delete the action and install it. Thank you

Hi, Some of the final results was changed and improved using only included tools for showing the possibilities of this action. You can see the real final result and how to change and improve that in this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kovzcKAES98 Also here is the most popular reasons of “select” error: 1. Please check the name of created layer. The right name “area”. 2. Make sure that your background layer has a “Background” view. 3. Also please make sure that you have loaded the patterns file and brushes file. If any of these recommendations will not solve the problem, please send me a fullscreen screenshot with your first error. And please pay attention that the screenshot must contains a full workspace of Photoshop right at the moment when the first error shows. My email address: [email protected] Thanks!

Hello! The main thing which needs to attention it's a resolution of your photo. The photos with big resolution will have a better detailing of final result. Also I recommend to use a normal balanced photos. For example look at the preview image. Also you can increase a contast of your images. It will adds more light and shadows on the finale result and the image will looks better. Thanks!

Hi! Actually this error shows when if you use a dark photo or when the resolution of your photo is too small. Please open your photo and go to: Image->Adjustments->Brightness/Contrast and try to increase a brightness of your photo. After that please play the action again. Also please increase the resolution to 3500px. For that please go to: Image->Image Size and increase width value to 3500px. If it will not resolve the problem, please send me your PSD file with Background and "area" layer for testing on my computer. My email address: [email protected] Thanks!

Hello! The main requirement is that your Photoshop must works with Oil Paint filter. Just open any image and go to Filter->Oil paint. If this filter will works fine with your image it's means that Vector Sketch action also will work fine. If the Oil paint filter is grayed out for you, please look at this recommendations: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/oil-paint-greyed-out.html Thanks!

Dear buyers! This action was tested and works fine in latest Photoshop CC 2018. If you use the latest Photoshop CC 2018, please use the action file from the “CC 2015.5+ version” folder. If a “CC 2015.5+ version” folder contains few versions of the action, please use a version for CC 2017. If you don’t have a “CC 2015.5+ version” folder into an archive with the action, it’s means that the basic action file works good in all versions of Photoshop. Many thanks and good luck! :)
